and Awareness
Amor Ministries
Amor
Ministries is a non-profit organization working in Mexico.
Amor constructs clinics, schools, churches and homes for
the Mexican communities of Tijuana, Cuidad Juarez, and Puerto
Peñasco. The majority of the families receiving
assistance from Amor Ministries have a weekly income of $60
US. They are living in shacks with dirt floors and walls made
from scrap wood.
The
projects being built have a cement foundation, walls framed
from 2"x 4"s, a strong weather resistant roof and
a stucco finish. The average home built by Amor is 11' x 22'
with two rooms. Clinics, schools and churches are larger structures.
The structures are a free service provided to the families
and communities of Mexico. This construction is done by volunteers
from the United States, Canada, and Australia. PCNP has sent
several teams to construct houses as summer short-term mission
projects.
Along
with the construction provided by Amor Ministries, a food
bank for the communities of Tijuana and Juarez was also established.
The food bank provides flour, sugar, powdered milk, beans,
rice, and other staple needs to Mexican families needing assistance.
The resources for the food bank come from the donations of
people in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
