Youth for Christ
Cindy
grew up at PCNP, was baptized as a baby and joined the church
in 9th grade. Cindy was an elder in high school. In college
she interned one summer at PCNP with the youth group. Cindy
is a Youth for Christ missionary on loan to Military
Community Youth Ministries (MCYM). MCYM's two major partners
are Youth for Christ and Youth Life (www.mcym.org).
Cindy served for 8 1/2 years in Europe before moving back
to the headquarters in Colorado. She was the Personnel Director
for 5 years before having a son, Adam. Currently she serves
as the recruiter for MCYM - recruiting, interviewing, and
preparing YFC and YL staff to serve teens on military bases
all over the world (Europe, Asia and the US).
"The groups of teens we work with are teenagers whose
parents serve in the US military. They have unique needs.
They are moved all around the world, isolated from extended
family and now may have one or both parents deployed to Iraq
and other places.
Our goal is to either introduce them to Jesus Christ or to
help strengthen their relationship with Him."
Praise and Prayer Requests:
- "We
have a son Adam; that Gary and I would be Godly parents
relying on Jesus to guide us.
- Our
staff and volunteers that they would be 'Jesus with skin
on' to teens. Especially those who have parents deployed.
- Continue
to find quality staff that are called to work with military
dependant teens in Taegu, Korea, Marshall Islands and other
places."
