Stewardship...a Significant Part of Discipleship

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" Matthew 6:21

Stewardship begins with the recognition of God's Grace in our lives.

We are committed to the concept of Stewardship in all aspects of Christian life.

We believe that our responsibility as Christians - faithful followers of Jesus Christ--compels us to continuously grow in our financial commitment as we expand our ministries and opportunities--ready to meet the challenges God has placed before us.

Our giving is faith based and confidential. We do not personally contact you to increase revenues. There are no dues or fees. We have a pledge system which is the opportunity for you to prayerfully pledge a portion of your material wealth to the work of Jesus Christ and His Church. The important thing is for all of us to get specific with God, to set a positive goal for ourselves, and to make ourselves accountable before the Lord.

We teach as Jesus taught - that responsible giving is an assumed discipline. The Bible is clear that God expects our first fruits out of faith and gratitude and while we believe tithing is clearly our Biblical responsibility, what you give is truly between you and the Lord.

Giving Opportunities

Offerings

  • Traditionally given as offerings in worship each week or month
  • We encourage all to refer to our "guide to giving" to examine amount contributed as it relates to percentage of income. Proportional giving means determining ahead of time the proportion of your income that will be given to the church on a yearly basis; and striving to increase that percentage, even by a small amount, each year to reach the biblical model of giving -- the tithe, which is 10%.
  • We provide quarterly, as well as year-end statements
  • Quarterly contributions are often received as supplemental offerings
  • Envelopes are provided for members, or by request, which provide for efficient records to produce statements at tax time

All contributions are kept confidential

Special Contributions

  • Missions Special Offerings: Several times a year, our Missions Team and Session choose a special mission whose needs are communicated to the congregation for the purpose of awareness and to raise funds for the mission, in addition to regular giving
  • Designated Giving: Designed to be in addition to regular giving responsibilities, Session will offer several opportunities each year for Designated Giving. This provides the opportunity for people to fund their passions in areas of ministry that are not included within the budget
  • Commemorative Giving: Opportunity to give to PCNP "in honor of" or "in memory of" or "in thanksgiving for"
    These contributions are accepted as:
    • regular offerings into the general fund
    • PCNP Endowment Fund
    • already established missions offering or approved special designated offering

"Cornerstone Ministries"

  • Endowment Fund: Contributions given specifically for future generations of PCNP
  • Planned Giving Opportunities: A variety of opportunities to contribute to PCNP through planned giving vehicles, enabling the donor and PCNP to benefit
  • Bequests: Have you remembered PCNP in your will? (click to view the complete brochure)
